Renault ZOE
The third, and current, generation of the ZOE, the most popular EV sold in Europe, is available in Play, Iconic, and GT Line trim levels.
The latest ZOE features a restyled exterior with nine colour options. Full LED headlamps come as standard with three wheel sizes available: 15-inch, 16-inch and 17-inch. Internally, again, the ZOE has been completely redesigned and improved interior and available with a 9.3-inch portrait style multimedia screen with a customisable 10-inch TFT instrument cluster as standard. 100% recycled plastic is used for visible plastics on interior. New regenerative braking B-Mode allows for single pedal driving and further convenience features include 4G connectivity with three-year data pack and Bose Sound System whilst Apple CarPlay and Android Auto offered as standard.
The ZOE is available with two motor options, 100kW R135 and entry level 80kW R110, and Renault is using a new 52kWh Z.E. 50 battery capable of up to 245 miles (WLTP) which represents an increase of 32% from the previous 41kWh unit. The battery is 50kWh rapid charge compliant and provides 90 miles of charge in 30 minutes through Renault’s Chameleon Charger. Customers purchasing the vehicle brand new benefit from a free 7kW BP Chargemaster Homecharger unit and installation.
Dropping back a verison, the previous Renault ZOE models, launched in 2018/2019, are the ZOE Dynamique Nav and the ZOE S Edition. These vehicles, too, have two motor options available - the Q90 Quick Charge motor allows for faster battery charging whilst the R110 offers improved performance, especially between 50mph and 70mph. Both are mated to the Z.E. 40 battery and both have a WLTP-rated range of 186 miles.
TheseZOE models are well equipped and include hands-free keycard, rear parking sensors, automatic wipers and lights, as well as climate control. Also featuring is front and rear electric windows, and electric, heated and folding door mirrors. Voice-controlled satellite navigation is also comes as standard via an embedded tablet in the centre console that includes a seven-inch touchscreen. Drivers of this version of the Renault ZOE also enjoy access to Android Auto-enabled R-LINK Evolution meaning that the car’s multimedia screen will display compatible Android Apps from the driver’s smartphone. Z.E. Connected Services allows remote charging, monitoring of charge status and pre-conditioning to pre-set the temperature of the ZOE before getting in. Last but not least, the 2018 model-year ZOE range features a new dark metallic purple body colour: Aconite .
The range-topping Renault ZOE S replaced the previous Signature Nav version and offers additional equipment at a small premium over the Renault ZOE Dynamique Nav such as a BOSE stereo, which includes DAB radio, and a rear parking camera. The seats are finished in a leather and textile covering with lumbar adjustment on the driver’s seat.
Prior to the ZOE Dynamique Nav and the ZOE S , this all-electric, five-door supermini was available in a choice of three trim levels (five versions) and two batteries – the Z.E.40 battery and original 22kW battery. The entry level Expression version comes with the 22kW battery whilst Dynamique Nav and above are offered with the new Z.E.40 battery, equipped with an optional Quick Charge facility. The entry level Expression Nav came with a high level of standard specification including items such as climate control and the 7-inch touch screen R-Link 2 infotainment system with sat nav. The Dynamique Nav boasted features including hands free keycard, automatic lights and wipers and rear parking sensors. The top-of-the-range Signature Nav trim provided buyers with features including supple leather upholstery, a seven speaker BOSE audio system, heated front seats and a rear parking camera.
Safety features for the ZOE included a five-star Euro NCAP rating and standard safety features such as ESC with traction and understeer control, Hill Start Assist and front and side driver and passenger airbags.
